  • Vicky Beeching — Theologian, Writer, Broadcaster, Recording Artist
Vicky Beeching is an Oxford-educated theologian, writer, broadcaster and keynote speaker. She appears regularly on BBC TV, Sky News and writes for publications like The Guardian and The Independent. She’s been profiled by The Huffington Post, BBC World Service and Time Magazine Online. Vicky is an advisor to the United Nations on LGBT equality and religion. She is based between London, England and Washington D.C., USA. After Oxford, Vicky trained as a management consultant and during this season she was offered a full-time recording contract with music label giant EMI, so she took the leap, signed with them and moved to the USA to record and tour. Touring for almost a decade across North America and Europe, Vicky sang and spoke regularly in front of 20,000 people. A key part of Vicky’s story took place on August 14th, 2014. In an interview that featured on the front page of two major UK newspapers, Vicky came out as gay. Coming from such a conservative Christian background and having ‘star status’ in the Bible belt gospel music industry meant her announcement created international shock-waves. For Vicky, taking this step was to face her greatest fear and do what she’d never thought possible.
